In the name of Allah, the Exalted.
Mourning for Imam Husein (may peace be upon him), may our souls be sacrificed
for him, is not only a highly praised action but is recommended if not obligatory -
especially during this age where people are more opposed to the Shi’ite beliefs.
Mourning in any form like beating on the chest, the use of chains (bladed or
non-bladed) and using a sword on the head has absolutely no objections
whatsoever in the same way Grand arja E Taqleed Na’eni has said. It is better for men
to avoid acting as women in role-plays and vice versa, and the use of
unlawful musical instruments should be completely avoided.

require anyone’s approval.

I agree with the ruling issued by Grand Marja E Taqleed Na’eni regarding
the mourning for Imam Husein (may peace be upon him) such as beating
on the chest and similar practices as mentioned in his ruling, which has
the support of all the great Scholars.

It is necessary for all the believers to make sure there are no shortcomings in upholding these mourning practices more so than before, as in this age the enemies of Islam have many conspiracies to prevent us from mourning for Imam Husein (may peace be upon him).

The ruling of the Grand Marja E Taqkeed Na’eni shouldn’t need my approval,
but since you have asked I will give you my opinion. The late Kashif al-Ghetaa’,
in the book ‘Aayaatol Bayenaat’, has proven that there is no harm in striking
oneself on the head with a sword and it is not considered to be an act of “harming
oneself”. This has also been narrated in other books, including the “Resaaleh
Igaale al-Aaasir fi Ighaamah al-Sha’aa’er” and “Mostataab Ighnaa’il Laa’im ala
Ighamatil maa’tam” and others and the need for the performance of mourning for
Imam Husein (may peace be upon him) is proven and explained.

Mourning for Imam Husein (may peace be upon him), is permitted, if not
recommended. That which Grand Marja E Taqleed Na’eni has stated regarding
mourning for Imam Husein (may peace be upon him), is correct and approved.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Mourning for Imam Husein (may peace be upon him), the leader of the youth of
paradise, is highly recommended and if Islam is still alive today it has been through
mourning for Imam Husein (may peace be upon him). In fact, Grand Marja E Taqleed
Ha’eri would always choose one of his students to recite the tragedy of Karbala before
he began teaching his students. Regarding mourning for Imam Husein (may peace
be upon him), that which Grand Marja E Taqleed Na’eni has ruled and all other Scholars
have approved, I also approve. I pray for all those who uphold and participate
in the practices in mourning for Imam Husein (may peace be upon him).

respectful and it is necessary to consider those who carry out these acts of
worship (the practices) as people with pure intentions, keeping alive the
commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Husein (may peace be upon him).

In the name of Allah, the Exalted.
The writings of Grand Marja E Taqleed Na’eni are confirmed by all of the Scholars
and myself. However, I would like to add that it is necessary for all the
followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (as) to be aware of any conspiracies that the
enemies plan in degrading the status of the Ahl al-Bayt (as) and belittling
the good actions of the mourning we perform.
